BANSKA BYSTRICA (SVK):  18th edition of top Slovak indoor event special high jump meet in central part of the country is again on February 9 promising high flights of best jumpers. Ivan Ukhov achieved at favorable surface last year during Europa SC High Jump Meeting 238 cm what was not only meet record but also the best mark of 2010 in or out. He is going to return with high ambitions. Remains to see how tired he will be after Russian Winter on Sunday. This will determine whether he will be like in Hustopece after 238 attack the global mark of Javier Sotomayor. Ukhov also easily cleared 234 on Sunday at Russian Winter meeting and had one good try at would-be Russian record 241 cm. Also in the field other Russians Aleksey Dmitrik, Sergey Mudrov and US twice world indoor finalist Jesse Williams (he jumped here his PB 236 in 2009). Waiting on his chance will be Ukrainian Dmytro Demyanyuk who already cleared 230 this season. Women field hopes to attack first two metres of the season. Top contenders - Russian Svetlana Shkolina with twice 196 already this season and Italian Antoniette Di Martino with 195 from Dessau. Specially Di Martino remembers well this meeting as 2007 here she jumped her first two metres. There will be new winner since 2006 as in past four times Blanka Vlasic who is passing this undercover season was dominating. Her meet record of 205 will be most probably remain untouched.
